I had a several hour long match with a friend today, it ended up being a desperate dash around each side of a circle shaped map with our armies attempting to destroy the poorly defended base of left behind as the armies marched towards the enemy.
Quite fun.

Um yeah... not something I want to buy...

It was enjoyable if you want instant satisfaction go buy an FPS or something, not a RTS with a large scale. Even on the past C&C games matches can stretch to several hours.
I have no idea if C&C3 will follow this, seems they want it to act more like a action game than a game of strategy anyway.

It is more than possible if you are playing against someone who is good at the game.

I can't wait to get Supreme Commander, later this day if I'm lucky and Futureshop has some copies left.
I am honestly way more excited about it than C&C3... I mean, why would I believe EA's hype when I look at their history. Plus, I'm not a fan of small-scale tactics, I prefer large-scale strategy.

Those complaining about the gameplay's pace isn't playing the game the correct way. Or was expecting an arcade RTS like C&C. Shift key is your friend!
Those complaining about the balancing of resources.. uh.. I have no idea.
Anyone who played and enjoyed Total Annihilation, this game is obviously for you.

The camera is pushed back to give a sense of 'epic', so don't expect detailed units or 'hero' infantry giving you orders. Nor expect any personality in any of the units-- they are objects to die for you and nothing more.
I haven't seen anything that resembles a city/urban environment and chances are there aren't any.
The three sides are all human. And all three sides act more or less the way you'd expect them to in the story. So far anyways...
The music was done by a returning Jeremy Soule. It pretty much captures the feeling of the game and it, of course, picks up once the fighting starts.

But enough talk have at you!

The first UEF mission was a cakewalk. Map extensions are frequent as ever.

The second mission greeted you to a time limit for the first part. After that, it was time to blow shit up.

Traffic jam! Pathfinding around corners still sucks.
