Something indicates they would have used "city" palettes which changed them from cold to warm according to environment (data saving much like in other old games: Just change the palette instead of the image, AKA palette swap)
But Ra2 ended up not using palette swap. These buildings also seem more in a TS fashion and have a different human scale. (smaller floors, etc. = more of a TS scale/feel). At least in CITY01 it's very noticeable (but no remap, not occupiable, etc.)
So, they are from a beta version, right?
There is also a city 06 which seems ripped from TS and badly rescaled, and which uses the normal unittem, meaning they stopped making them there.
Then there is CTCITY01-04 (the 05 one is missing here), which work with citytem palette better (the other ones only look good with citysno, these work on both) and rescaled, meaning my intuition on the scale was correct. These are re-renders, not 2D upscales. But again, they are never used since the urban system must have changed once again. Rendering, them, also obsolete.
And they were not re-rendered in the final style/palette, which is building just using unittem again and not being actually repalettable [somewhat of a shame IMO, imagine them looking actually different in each theatre without needing "snow version". Much less modding work
If there anyone that has fully restored them and has them up for download?
I can repalette them to unittem as shown, but its drudge busywork which might be redundant... (also they don't have damaged frames etc.)
