Beta version of the entire CANWY05 by Vlad112
Subject description: Beta version of the entire CANWY05 by Vlad112
I made the entire WTC version for my mod (Red Alert 2 Extended). There are some small bugs but it will be fixed. I used Westwood shp as a base and I took a screen from another mod for the roof, which I thank you for, and reconstructed it pixel by pixel for the Westwood version. The problem is that I haven't solved the problem of tall buildings yet so I have to turn to the community for help. We need proper settings and the only thing I've read is that it can be solved with animation or some BIB settings but I can't find any instructions anywhere. Anyone from the community can use this asset (I know that many people have been waiting for it because similar buildings are only exclusive to these mods.
honestly this doesn't look like something that should be too difficult or take too long to just redraw yourself and carry on
you already have a reference image for how you want it to look
it probably sounds scary/like a lot of work before you start, but it really isn't. it wasn't that long ago that i decided to bite the bullet and create a "new" building by editing an existing one... was a bit of a push to force myself into it, but then after i'd done it a few times, here i am creating and editing dozens and dozens of buildings of all kinds, and it's no problem at all Last edited by Bugsey827 on Thu Sep 25, 2025 10:21 pm; edited 1 time in total QUICK_EDIT
From the picture the building appears beige but the trade centers were steel and should be a light grey or a battleship grey.
The antenna on the building was probably the lenght of a 20 story building so on your building, it looks really weird.
You canmake 2 buildings and just add different detail to the top of each and remove the antenna entirly since at this point it just looks like a school yard flag pole _________________ Strange...As strange as it may seem, I'm still, up here...floating.
And no one seems to notice. QUICK_EDIT

I don’t understand how some people hoard hundreds of thousands of assets, and then most of the projects just sit on someone’s hard drive until they get formatted and lost. A ton of mods and projects are abandoned, and instead of sharing, everyone ends up recreating the same assets over and over again.
Personally, I’m all for sharing whatever I create. So I don’t get why some people here are upset just because I took an original Westwood building, finished it, and based the roof design on a screenshot from someone’s mod. It wasn’t a simple copy-paste job — I had to rebuild it pixel by pixel, basically from scratch, because nothing actually fits if you just drop it in. If I wanted to, I could have drawn the whole thing completely from scratch, but that’s not the point.
The bigger issue is this mindset where people keep everything to themselves instead of sharing with the community. All I wanted was some advice on how to do it better, so the asset could be available to everyone. I know others have already made similar ones, but they keep them locked away exclusively for their own fancy mods. QUICK_EDIT

Absolutely no excuses. Look, most of us in the RA2 fan base are over 30, and we don’t have as much free time as we’d like. When I started experimenting with SHP modding a few days ago, it was only because I got sick and had to stay home for a while. G-E, I still think we should be friends QUICK_EDIT
- You copied a significant part of my asset, exactly the portion different from the WW asset
- You said it was from "another mod" without even trying to credit the mod
- You claim you had sooo much work into it, when I did more work and therefore feel equally protective
- You refuse to remove the downloads when asked
- You justify your actions on grounds of being busy or old

Okay, so in order! I've been in business for ten years and we sell a lot of cosplay goods. My close friend has his own production of helmets from movies like Star Wars and the like. How is it legal? Not a copy but Inspiration!!! Look at any civil law of the United States or the EU. Inspiration is not copying. As I wrote, I was inspired! I didn't use ctrl-c ctrl-v I saw a picture that was like a template ... Positioning, resize, pixels, palette! I had to do everything myself! Nothing just fits if you want, you can try it yourself and without total intervention nothing will come of it. And the building model itself is the original Westwood. The second thing that you are defending is as if Electronic Arts has now started a dispute with you for using their WTC building, reducing its width and extending it + roof. Total nonsense... And do whatever you want and delete whatever you want but I stand by my opinion which is also legally based. Wake up people, you are shaking like little children with autism for every pixel!!G-E if you want to be mentioned in the credits that your roof was the inspiration, that's no problem QUICK_EDIT
