Wanna know if it's feasible to use a script to create symmetrical maps.

Due to my super sucky coding skills, the WAE script I wrote turned out like the pic and I can't even save the results.



I have some knowledge about maps and have hands-on experience making them. The functions provided by WAE should be enough to create a script for terrain symmetry only. I wonder if there's any pro out there who can make it happen?

i dont know about scripting but i do know about terrain tiles.

you will have to write it so that a right ramp tile when flipped should be a left ramp tile and a right shore tile when flipped will be a
left shore tile etc. not every tile in the editor has a corresponding tile with flipped art so it will be somewhat limited, but it should be
plenty possible to get it working with cliffs, ramps, slopes, any lat tile set, and most of the shore pieces and road pieces.

Yea there will be tons of exceptions to making things the "same" left vs right and even top vs bottom. Getting some crude approximation that needs a lot of manual fixing is probably the best you're gonna get.

Or you could learn to love asymmetrical maps Smile
