Homing missiles try to first fly to their notional cruising altitude before trying to home in on the target. You can see the Guardian GI rocket climb up, fly level a bit, and then aim back down to the target. If the missile is launched from above the cruise altitude, it does the same thing, giving you at best an S-curve trajectory... it will never fly straight to taget unless ROT=1, but then it will also likely miss.

So what's the goal here exactly, do you want the dropping effect before the missile shoots off, or do you want a straight path to target?
I have seen a person doing exactly this in this forum before but I can find it no longer. Anyway I am trying this because all planes are working in the same way firing a missile when almost on top unless I am using a missile with ROT=1 the missile will deploy and run into target which mimic the missile drop quite really good. I am just trying to get over the boundary to make something new.
The only working splits demo I've seen was with a projectile dropped into the water to become a torpedo after. I don't know if there's a way to control where it splits exactly.
But if variety is what you're after, you can make twinned missile voxels, shorter than what I have here, used with the ROT=1 weapons, and it will appear to be a barrage from both sides of the aircraft.
You can also experiment with tumbling bombs, take away the line trails and with a lower speed, just let them fall into the target.
1. Make weapon that falls down when fired
2. Use DetonationAltitude= to make it detonate below the plane
3. Use Splits= to spawn a new homing weapon.
4. profit... _________________

Thank you, this is very interesting.

I see... Now I have to try, thank you very much. QUICK_EDIT
