We have two candidates for contests suggested by our visitors. We plan to start one of them when Open Map Competition #2 submission time is over. One is a Open Map Competition for RA2 suggested by AvianKnight. The other is a TS Voxel Competition suggested by Carnotaurus. Which of them would you like to see first? You choose!

Hmm... Would anyone be interested in the best AI competition (for unmodded games, not some mods)) ? I already know two people (three, including me) with custom AIs for YR, who would be willing to participate. I understand this would require far more time than a good map or a voxel...

An AI competition would be cool... but how would we rate the submitted AIs if we cannot make it fight each other?

You have to get judges that can defeat 7 Brutals in alliance with Superweapons on,and all of them play on urban,sea,inland,island,and mountain map (1 of each) and get average times of judges for all map types with 7 Brutals in alliance and SWs.If there will be AI that will win in all or some games get average times of judges being defeated.

Just an idea.

Human judges. Who play a few games against each AI under the same conditions, and the game length is used to rank the AIs.

I know the ranking can take a while, but there's no other way ...

An AI comp would be good unless it was for crappy RA2/YR

so a TS AI comp

It would take a while though (take me a while to complete it anyway)

AI can be made unbeatable in rules.ini...so there's no good way to rate it's 'performance'

A Good AI is not unbeatable, A good ai is an AI that gives you a challange, and wins about 30/40% of the games it playes against a good player. With other players, the percentage will vary

I agree.. a good AI is an AI that does smart attacks at the right moments hitting the right targets..

Indeed. you can never perfect artificial intelligence,so it is impossible to desgin our Dream AI for Tiberian Sun. the AI HAS to be perfect for both factions,striking hard,swift,and fast WHEN and WHERE you least expect it. if the AI Cant win a game,its pathetic...
