Will VXLSE III ever get an Android version?
Subject description: I am sometimes too lazy to use my PC :P
I have sometimes encountered the want to voxel but I am far too lazy to even use my PC, so I just use Facebook and get over it, but if it ever gets an opportunity, will there be an Android version of it? _________________ all my posts before 2020 were made by a 13 year-old, forgive these if you see any, thank you QUICK_EDIT
I don't think I lean myself too far out of the window when i say: No.
How do you even want to place a voxel with an imprecise touchscreen, where you can't see what you place under your finger? _________________ SHP Artist of Twisted Insurrection: Nod buildings

I use a stylus, and I have a tablet which I use a lot for little sketches _________________ all my posts before 2020 were made by a 13 year-old, forgive these if you see any, thank you QUICK_EDIT

I do have a tablet with stylus, 2 old mobile phones with stylus, a new nintendo 3ds and a wii u (all with stylus). Although I also use my tablet for sketches, I must admit that it is still very imprecise, regardless of being very useful. It's much better than a touchscreen without stylus.
But all that doesn't justify the non-existence of an android version. Honestly, android accepts mouse. If you pair a bluetooth mouse with your android, it works.
Anyway, in order to make VXLSE III work with Android, I'd face a couple of problems. I'd either need an expensive newer Delphi liscense or I'd have to convert the source code to work with Lazarus. I prefer working with Lazarus. I'd still face another problem: the renderer. I'd need to convert OpenGL 2.1 to OpenGL ES 1 or whatever works with the newer versions of Android.
I have no plans, in a short term, to do that. QUICK_EDIT
Android apps are mainly Java apps. Id expect you would face alot more hoops to go through to get it working on the phone if its a Native app. Also alot of the code would have to be changed as your using alot of Windows only code. The Open File Dialog is windows only. The code to load files is windows only. Etc.
It would be easier codding an app from scratch then porting VXLSE III. Also if your designing for a Tablet you would want to modify the UI so it was more tablet friendly. _________________ Free Map Editor - Game Requirements - Stucuk.Net QUICK_EDIT
