Yuri's Revenge: VS_INI
Subject description: This is a simple INI(Rules/Art/AI) mod which emphasizes on game play re-balance/uplift and major AI
First time posting here on PPM, this little project was put on moddb last year July 4th, it's been an year already.
I consider this INI mod as semi hardcore pvp oriented. With numerous games against top tier Yuri's revenge/Mental Omega players in China, it has been updated roughly every 1 or 2 months.
After playing the mod, HOLY SHIT THIS MOD IS AWESOME!!!
I love what you have done. The particle effects were on point, loving what you did with them, and a harder AI is what we wanted. However there is one crucial bug. The game always freezes after a certain period of time against AI. It seems like it is the rendering problem, or the particles are too many that it crashes my system. What renderer did you use? @@
Edit: Nvm, I just tested the mod without Ares and it runs perfectly. The mod adds a lot of particle effects and one of the most noticeable change for Ares is the change of Railgun systems, maybe that's the cause for the freeze, just theorizing. If the mod supports Ares, it would be very beautiful. _________________ QUICK_EDIT
Usually a freeze late in the game with the AI is when it tries to build something that doesn't exist. First thing I'd do is look for a typo in the taskforces. QUICK_EDIT
Saw the difficulty settings comment on the above mentioned moddb
page. The fields of Armor, Cost, Airspeed, Groundspeed, BuildTime and
Firepower does not work in [Easy], [Normal] and [Difficult] sections for
YR. Only the remaining fields of ROF and computer only fields work. QUICK_EDIT

While this ain't really my style of mod, I have to acknowledge, you pulled out a lot of visual polish by reusing the original assets. Great job on that one.
