The Vanguard is a heavy duty cyborg sporting a very tough exoskeleton and a kinetic broad shield which enable it to withstand anti-infantry fire. It's only weapon is an arm-mounted Tachyon Cannon which can fire energy blasts over long distances and with stunning accuracy. It deals decent damage to infantry and vehicles but it is most effective against light structures and defenses. The energy blasts also produce weak EM pulses which can disable vehicles, defenses and reprogrammed cyborgs for a split second. It may not be potent, but it can throw enemies off. The Vanguard is slow and too big to fit inside structures like the Devout, plus it's Tachyon Cannon has a minimum range that prevents it from shooting anything too close to it.
