wel i am having some probs myself right now (not a virus Razz

butt i just lost all data on my pc again. thank god that i have 2 pc's, but i need to update my backups, because i just lost alot of new stuff Sad

still the best way to get ideas for detailing is to look at outher maps, and take your time, i do Very Happy

by the way my new map of mars is gone i have a backup of it but thats only the basics. so i am not realy in the mood now to start over again.
but it will come.

ya its a dam shame the map was +- 70% done. but i am gonna make a total new one, it will come be sure of that Wink

rogue4567, painting the ground wont do it.

make some small cliffs, that always looks nice.
and make the ground rough, a little hill here a crater there.

by the way ZD hope u get that dam virus of your pc.
u still have to play my map u know Very Happy

Remember, ALL of the buildings, terrain objects, overlay, smudges, and terrain styles are there for a reason. Use them.

yes, however, people can rely on buildings too much, so don't have a bunch of civilain buildings, because if theyr'e destroyed, the map looses a lot of it's charm...

I think I see my 18-wheeler in there...

2, It's still very plain. You're just relying on a ton if infantry to do the job of detail, which they can't. vary up the pavement a bit, put something interesting behind the concrete walls... Look at westwood maps for examples (extract them from the CD with XCC Mixer)
