The Black Guard is the most elite group in the Red Army, originally formed to guard the Premier to which they now guard the Generalissimo. You might think that they're a bunch of corrupt incompetent slackers due to the fact that they rarely see combat. They're in fact very active compared to the Black Guard of old, being deployed in some of the more crucial campaigns such as the neutralization of the Chimera insurgency in Serbia or the retaking of the Gobi Desert from Imperial forces. If there is one thing about them that stands out the most, that would be the Werewolves of the Wolf Brigade. The Werewolves are the toughest soldiers around, being highly trained individuals equipped with the best the Soviet Superscience Division can offer and absolutely indulge in the slaughter of hundreds on the battlefield. They wear heavy battle suits that allow them to withstand tremendous amounts of damage and protect them from various hazards, have infra-red and thermal views incorporated into their helmets which allow them to detect and engage stealth units, and are armed with their signature weapon: the VRM-1 Gyrojet Rifle, otherwise known by them as "Bolters". These weapons may look like huge metal slabs, but they're better known for the ammo they fire; Gyrojets are rocket-assisted bullets which travel faster than regular rounds and have far greater armour-piercing capability. The Werewolves utilize high explosive tipped gyrojets which are fiendishly effective against nearly everything, including low flying aircrafts such as helicopters. With the ability to shrug off anything the enemy hits with and destroy everything on sight quickly, many believe they're not even human at all. The Werewolves themselves acknowledge this, preferring to see themselves as totally different, far superior beings despite being just highly trained regulars, which only goes to show how inhuman they've become.
