The lowly Conscripts and Flak Troopers are aware that they're effectively outgunned by nearly everything and couldn't possibly stand a chance. This is where Commissars come in to provide them with much needed motivation, even if it means through brutality. Commissars are field officers who are veterans of many conflicts, tasked with keeping morale high and making sure that everyone fights. Like Flak Troopers, there're two sides to a Commissar. On one hand, they're terrifying, irrational bosses who will force their men to charge into battle and imminent death. They'll execute anyone who dares to retreat and are known to give severe punishment for even minor mistakes. On the other hand, the mere presence of a Commissar is an uplifting sight as they represent the bravery of the Soviet Army. They're ever only dressed in their officer's attire, yet are unusually resilient. They're armed with modified PPSh-41 submachine guns which have extended range and fire tesla bullets, making them potent against infantry and even light vehicles. They'll also let out a battle cry that somehow revitalises troops, giving even the mortally wounded the will to fight. A once rag-tag bunch can effectively become a force to be reckoned with thanks to the leadership and ferocity of the Commissar. They're truly terrifying men. The question is whether you want to be terrified of them or want to just as terrifying.
