Hi guys
I were looking for a Half Life 2 modding site, where someone could work as a 3d modeler, am not asking for myself but I know someone who'd like to try and model for a mod or something, the thing is, he is at an intermediate level in 3dsmax 2014 but he has absolutely no knowledge in coding
any Ideas?

Why not check out ModDB for some HL2 mods which are currently in development and if you like one, write them a message you want to help them.
They'll then surely direct you to the right places for HL2 modding.

ModDB is a great place. As there are groups that specifically tailor to both HL2 modding and 3d modeling. Two different schools of thought.

Another great resource is the

Valve Developer Community. as well.
