What MMORPG are you wanting/dreaming about?
Which Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game are you wanting to get the most? Currently, my favourite is definately WoW (World of Warcraft)
You know Warcraft III? It's like that, only you control one of the little soldiers on the screen, from a third or first person perspective. You level up, get better stats, get new weapons, party with other people, and live in an entire online world. Pretty much the same as any other MMORPG, only its set in a great world - Warcraft. With great graphics, great opportunties, and the promise of Blizzard that they have played several MMORPG's, are aware of the flaws with them, and are working to improve on it. yay for WoW! The major problem with MMORPG's is the monthly fee though; hopefully shouldnt be more than 20 bucks, (australian) here.
Banshee, they NEED to charge money to do that. Blizzard will be providing free updates and expansions (small ones, they'll prolly sell other continents or worlds for a price, like EQ), and they need to run a network of servers capable of easily handling 1 million people. They have to maintain those servers, and update them, and in the end, they need to make a profit. Just the price of buying the game can't do that.
As for MMORPGs really want, at the top of the list right now, is definately WoW. Looks great, and it'll be sweet to see how Blizz's first foray into the MMO world will do. Also, if Westwood is intending on making a C&C MMOG (Massively Multiplayer Online Game), that'd be AMAZINGLY cool.
Earth and Beyond also looks like ownage. Personally, I think too many MMOGs are RPGs. I mean, games like EQ and Dark Age of Camelot are all fine and good, but after a while, you get sick of Fantasy. Sometimes it's good to get a break from all that and lay waste to a bunch of baddies with the biggest shotgun ever seen
Along the lines of Futuristic MMOGs, Planescape looks good. Dunno if it's out yet, but if it's ANYTHING like 10six (My FAVOURITE MMOG of all time), it'll own. QUICK_EDIT

I think you are confused with the term mmorpg. Halo 2 might be online, but it wont me massively multiplayer, and it won't be an RPG. It would just be a OG. (Online Game) with a single player (like Renegade) QUICK_EDIT
