TI: Internal Errors
Subject description: This thread is for internal errors only.
This is the only topic here I don't want to see getting any replies. Hopefully there will be no Internal Errors, but if you do come across any, please upload the except.txt and logfile.txt here (check main TI directory and also the Client > Error Logs directory). A Description of what happened before the Internal Error occurred, what map and settings you had set would help us too.
If you are having .NET Framework errors, please make sure you have .NET Framework 2.0 up to 4.0 installed. Last edited by Aro on Sun Feb 27, 2011 12:16 am; edited 3 times in total QUICK_EDIT
i dont know if thats an actual TI and not just tiberian sun engine problem, but i keep getting crashes when an air transport dies while unloading units
(i gave the TD nod transport helicopter a usable tech level).
coming to think of it, that might be the reason you guys made them not available to players in the first place QUICK_EDIT

Twisted Dawn - Nod M5 - IE on start - Win10 64-bit
Hello,
I am experiencing an Internal Error when starting the fifth Twisted Dawn Nod mission. The mission and briefing loads just fine, but then freezes/crashes with an Internal Error message when the briefing is closed.
I am running the game on a 64-bit installation of Windows 10.
(If relevant: The music still plays and I can not actually click the IE message, requiring me to force-quit the application).
I have attached the logfiles relevant to the error.

Hi guys,
Been advised to post my error here
I've received it on numerous occasions while sometime into a skirmish mission against AI on the map - heart of darkness (great map)
I've restarted my matches 3-4 times but get it in every game, and saving and loading the match doesn't stop it

Game crashed on GDI Mission 08, but unfortunately I don't seem to have any logs or except files to help track this down.

GDI mission 11, crashes every time I try to load one of my saved games on it (I have a few, others work)
This time there is an except.log, kinda pointing to dividing by zero

Internal error shortly after save
I started getting an internal error shortly after I saved my Skirmish game. Happens every time I load it, so the bug is reproducible. The saved game as well as log files (and map settings) are included.

Downloaded TI and keeps crashing
Just downloaded this game really looking forward to playing but keeps crashing when i use TI launcher info as follows

Unfortunately we couldn't tell much from the logs, as if the error occurred outside the game code. It seems that the save is unrecoverable. _________________

This is usually caused by graphics drivers.
You can give a try to the XNA version of the client:
1) Download and install XNA Framework Redistributable 4.0 Refresh
2) Go to your TI directory, then to the "Resources" sub-directory, and from there run clientxna.exe

Can this be fixed by side-installing the min-DirectX alongside the game?

DirectX issues are extremely rare because DX11 has been bundled with Windows ever since Windows 7 (and Vista's Platform Update also includes it). No separate DirectX 11 installer even exists.

failing to load save
Hi guys, I'm playing GDI mission 13, but it won't load. it plays music in the backround while the green txt scrolls down, then it goes blank, and a little while after that the music stops playing and it just sits there, black screen. no mouse, no other controls. I cntl,alt,del and open manager, no mouse shows up, even switching to other programs if i have them running in the bg. i have to arropw down and delete the ti.exe, client is still there and opens right back up once the .exe is shut down. no log files or excepts.txt are generated. i have 4 saves from that map and none of them work. running reduced resolution on my screen, win10 64, some rules.ini changes
Even the few remaining XP users don't need to worry about it, because the client needs .NET Framework 4.0, which needs Service Pack 3, which includes DX9.0c which was the last DX version that was ever released for XP.
My HP Mini stopped at SP2
I COULD upgrade it, but kinda scared RA2 won't run anymore after that. So I'm not taking the risk.

im experiencing an Internal Error, i guess it's the same one every time, but i cannot tell for sure, as it seems to be random, or i could not find anything related yet. Im playing in shirmish the "Finale"-Map where i usually try to build up the big fortress to the northwest. Game Mode is Ultimate Insurrection with 2 Allies and 3 Enemys. It happens randomly somehwhat 10-15 minutes after loading my save or 15-20 minutes when starting a new. Im usually just busy with putting buildings to the right spot and enlarging my build-area with light-post-props. I did edit the map a little bit my removing all damaged walls in and around the fortress, but im pretty sure that the error occured before i did that on the original map aswell.
I did upload all 4 except.txt for each occurrence, not sure though if that log-file is what you meant.
Edit: I did at least once save just a couple seconds before the error, but it did not happen right after loading again, but about 10 minutes later.
Edit2: So it seems to be heavily related to the Ultimate Insurrection GameMode. I now startet a new skirmish - - with Timeless Insurrection and i didnt encounter any Internal Error yet, where at Ultimate Insurrection i already had have at least one. It seems aswell, that the AI ist buggy in it, as they mass harvesters at their base(Instant-build is activated) and get stuck, while at Timeless Insurrection they build proper Bases and do not yet stuck around.
Edit3: Well did get an internal error now and i cant even reload the savegames, i always have 2 savegames, which i am alternately saving on and both give an immediate internal error. that is very frustrating .

Crashes
Hi, after receiving my answer from ModDB page i decided to post the crash logs here. Since the skirmish is crashing relentlessly. So relentlessly that i can force the game to crash for unknown reason under a minute.
Not sure how many people reported it before so if my logs will be actually remotely useful.
Also, i got a video, two of them actually. One crashes at one and half minute and the second crashes under one minute. The first one has glitched audio for some reason but the second one sounds normal.
Here is the safe file, sitrep is as you can see that i flanked GDI base and took out the MCV and now i am mopping the rest of the base with my forces. Its 2v2v2 matchup.

Description:
Contains all crashes that happened on 6p maps, also contains the save file of the map in the video, the previous crashes are mostly other 6p player maps. Contains the TI.log with the recent crash from the video.
This won't help you solve the problem, but might be useful for devs.
Aside from one, all the EXCEPTs in the ZIP are caused by bad pointers. Checking the stack reveals that Is_Techno (maybe checks whether an object is a TechnoType?) gets a bad pointer to an object. Is_Techno is in all these cases called by TechnoClass::Evaluate_Cell. I don't know what this function really does either, but from the name and parameters I can guess that it's related to checking a cell (or its surroundings?) for threats. Checking this against some logs that the staff has sent me before, it seems that this crash is quite common.

Nod 14 freeze
Nod mission 14 Compulsions keeps freezing, some minutes into the game. No error files are made and windows only reports the problem to Microsoft. I know this is not much to go on, but what I did so far (to no avail) is:
- Disable hardware acceleration
- Update UHD driver
I saw another user on here who was also experiencing the same issue, but it had only one reply on the game speed maybe being the issue, but this didn't help... Any suggestions as to what may fix this? QUICK_EDIT
Ran into an internal error during "Mechanical Man." Tried approaching the main GDI base when the game crashed on me. Attached are the exception and save files. Also I experienced another internal during "Fields of Green." I crashed when I made $40k. Exception file attached, but I don't have the save because I went into the Nod campaign and overwrote it by accident

GDI Mission 5 "Fields of Green" - Credit Count Crash
Hi guys, I'm also getting an internal error during GDI TI Mission 5 "Fields of Green" when I approach certain credit counts (it was $40k at first, but with numerous reloads I managed to get to around $50k before crashing again). Seems like maybe some triggers are giving trouble? I've attached the error log and a save game where I'm just under the $50k count that causes the crash.
Figured it out... turns out i'm an idiot Do not put the files in the TS folder ^_^

Hi, new here.
Came across this mod started reading the story was pretty interested to play.
Download, dragged files from zip into ts folder, client works (and updated) tried to play a campaign mission (i tried everything that is in the list) and i keep getting internal error's.
So i swap the Renderer Default-> cnc-ddraw->ts/ie/ddwrapper/ddrawcompat/dxwnd window mode/ borderless compatibility fixes enabled.
and nothing works i keep getting errors.
also skirmish doesn't work.
Like my game engine refuses to work, its a Origin install version of Ts but cncnet works fine on it so did i miss any steps? did i install it wrong even thought the launcher works? its on version 0.8.0.7
My hardware is very up to date i9-9900k
2080 with latest drivers, netframework is installed etc..
Kinda clueless at this point, maybe someone has an idea?
Yep, TI is fully standalone and should be installed to a clean folder. Trying to install it on top of TS will not work.
Why would TI crash when installed on top of TS? Any TS files would be replaced by TI's, and if anything should crash it'd be TS due to user-induced "corruption"? QUICK_EDIT
Hi guys so I installed TI yesterday and I can not launch any game from the client either campaign or skirmish.
I have tried every render option there is but nothing seems to work all of them except for one give me the error game executable has stopped working.
The only render option that does not give me the error is TS-DDraw but when I choose and try to launch a game the window just dances around a bit then the client opens again.
I have the latest version of TS 0.8.0.7 QUICK_EDIT
Did you install Twisted Insurrection on an empty folder? If you have Tiberian Sun (TS) installed, do not install TI on top of it. TI is standalone, meaning it does not require TS, on the contrary it does not work on top of TS. _________________
Had not played this game in years. The C&C Remastered just put me back in the mood for some C&C action.
Downloaded TI, fresh install in new folder. Launcher works perfect, updates right away.
However, I can't launch anything, be it campaign or skirmish. Screen goes black as in going to load the game, and then "poof", back to launcher. Not even an error message.
Have you tried a different renderer? Go to the client (launcher) settings -> Display tab, and select from the Renderer dropdown list. Which renderer works best depends on your system setup, but CnC-DDraw and TS-Ddraw work best on most modern systems. _________________

Hi , When playing Nod Mission 14: Compulsions the game keeps crashing just after the Machinist has entered the NOD temple and the screen tries to move over to the rebel NOD base being attacked by GDI.
The crash logs show it keeps failing because of an "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION"

Corrupted safe files
Around a third of the time when I save my game the safe file ends up corrupted and can't be loaded.
There is no indication during safe that something went wrong and I can continue to play the game, but when I later try to load my safe I get a divide by zero exception.
I can't find a pattern and it happens in every mission so far.
I tried different render and compatibility settings during loading, but no difference.
I am getting an Internal Error crash if I scroll to the lower right corner of GDI Mission 6 (Clean Slate)
Exact same problem, happening years later. Exception report claims it to be an Access Violation when trying to read or write to a virtual address. QUICK_EDIT
Is this still active? Downloaded the mod a few days ago and just registered here to report an internal error.
Also getting it on the 6th GDI mission when I scroll to the lower right corner of the map. It doesn't matter if there's Fog of War or not, it happens if I do it at the start of the mission, or later on after the bridge is destroyed, or after getting reinforcements (I don't know the units' name, but the hovering vehicles that spawn over the water on the left side of the map).
I have already tried a force update of the client and restarting the mission from scratch. No dice, the error keeps happening as soon as I scroll to the lower right corner.
Editing to add: if I start the mission from the main menu it works fine. As soon as I save the game, the error will occur when I move to the lower right. Reloading a save game does the same. Which means, so long as I don't save or load, if I start the mission from the main menu, I can finish it.
