Grinders strike possibly even more fear into the enemies of Nod than their little brother, the Devil's Tongue. These metallic beasts crawl underground into position to quickly surface and use their powerful grinders on armored enemy units. On the surface they are able to move at great speeds to keep up on escaping targets. Despite their damaging effect on armored units, the Grinder is too cumbersome to be very effective against agile infantry, who are often able to take cover against it. They can overcome a few infantry units, but large groups of infantry are their biggest weakness. Nod commanders use the Grinder almost exclusively as a hit and run unit to pick off isolated units or small groups of units, as their armor is simply not tough enough to survive concentrated fire or base assaults.
