The game has gone gold, and they've released the trailer. Imo, it looks awesomeness.

Honestly, I don't really like the art style. It's all dusty-looking, which is fine sometimes, but in this case I think it makes thing a little too similar in appearance.

It looks quite good, but I think I'll be reserving my judgement until I play the demo. I don't know, I'm just not t hat hyped by the game. Plus "The Federals" is a rubbish name for a side, imo.

Some unique-looking gameplay, even if the graphics don't seem all that new or polished.

Provided we get our demo, this game will be amazing. Flatout amazing. Maybe. :p

Firstly... LOL @ Mr. Pokey... Sure, The Federals isn't the most original name but that's because it was shortened.

The Federals originally is... The Dome Confederacy

But to say, "this is a Dome Confederacy unit"... is a lot harder to say than "Federal unit".

I'm not sure if the name was lost entirely and traded for the abbreviation... *shrug*.. I haven't been noting those kind of details. Smile

It's kind of like how 'The Brotherhood of Nod' was shortened to just 'NOD'.

Moving on...

I'm glad you guys liked the Trailer!

At that resolution, the game is not really given all it's glory, when you see the game at native resolution with no compression... your jaws will drop.

When I joined the team, one of the first thing I did was to tell Soren (lead artist) that he was a god. His stuff is awesome and with each revision (each unit had several iterations.) they just looked better and better.

The last update I saw him do was the Federal Airport (I think that name changed?) which went from 'Awesome!' to 'HOLY MOTHER OF GOD AWESOMENESS!!!'. And that remake was actually due to a graphical issue with construction animations.

I've gone off on a tangent here. I'd just like to say, the art style isn't for everyone. Just like with the Warcraft art style, or the Zelda art style, some people just won't like it. Can't please everyone!

With that said, give it a shot! Unlike most recent games, it will look BETTER on your PC... NOT WORSE. Everyone who can run this game should be able to run it at max settings with no problems. Of course, there are configurable settings for those with aging PCs.

If it's just a shortened version of a proper name that's fine, I thought that "The Federals" was the full name #Tongue

Also, it's Nod, not NOD.
