Welcome to the Red Europe: Secret Missions of Red Alert
Subject description: forums.
Welcome, welcome commander. Do come in. We have much to discuss.
Red Europe is a mod for Command & Conquer 3 that takes place during the Great World War 2 of Red alert. While we all know about the major battles that took place on the European front through Germany, Greece, Poland and into Russia itself... what about the missions behind the scenes?
Command British, German, Russian, Chinese, French and even American forces in the battles that determine the outcome of the Great World War 2 as you are taken to battles ranging from the Europe to Asia and even the Americas themselves. Take control of the most amazing technologies of the time as you become acquainted with old favorites and new weapons of mass destruction, waging a no-holds war against your sworn enemies. Nerve Gas, massive battle tanks and even nuclear weapons are all a part of the game. After all, these aren't the battles that make it into the nightly news. Arm your troops, charge the 'coils. This is your Red alert.
Basically, these forums stand as a center for discussion about the mod. This section here is what you would call the "General Discussion" area. You can talk about whatever as long as it pertains to the mod.
The Development Blogs area is where you'll find periodic game updates posted by the team members. You will also find story updates and general mod background here. QUICK_EDIT

Modding
Hey Ackart, I'm kinda new at this modding business and I was wondering if you could answer a few questions for me.
I would like to either make a mod or at least help make one, but I have no idea where to begin. I was looking at C&C3 mods, in fact I am downloading the modding tools from the EAC&C3 site right now. I screwed around on all of the "Lord of the Rings" "Worldbuilder" and Age of Empires, that sort of thing, but that is the extent of my experience "modifying" games.
I took a class last year on website design and am designing one for a business right now. I am also taking an adv. computer class at my high school. I'm still in school so modding would be something I'd do evenings and weekends. Any ideas for where to begin, who to contact, or how I would get into it

Hmm. Well, if you've messed with Worldbuilder you should have some interesting mapping skills. You'll want to check out the Modding SDK on the main site and peek around there.
Say, do you have MSN or AIM or some flavor of instant messaging program?[/url] _________________ Red Alert mod for C&C3. QUICK_EDIT

I surprisingly don't have instant messaging. In fact, I haven't really e-mailed much at all until recently. I dont even have my own e-mail address, I use my parents'.
How do most guys go about modding, I mean like is it a business or something, or is it something people do because they like it? I'm still in high school, but I'm checking out different areas in computers like 3D, designing, programming, website, and just understanding the basic mechanics of computers because I plan to go into computers after college.
Thanks for the help!
