So currently the way the texture map is stored is vertical, and when a voxel is taller than it is wide, the tall part gets clipped to the size of the width, resulting in any pixels above becoming white.

I'm proposing the texture map be saved with the top/bottom/sides facing sideways, and then the front/back being at the bottom, as per diagram. Since the 99.99999% of voxels are longer than they are wide (and longer than tall)... and we all use wide screen monitors right?

This would make the resulting bmp canvas more square and easier to work with in a photo editor, while simultaneously removing the height constraint currently imposed by the width determining the canvas.

PS. the front/rear view should be flipped right-side-up but I forgot Smile

Any thought on this Banshee?

The texture tool's width/height bug has been in VXLSE since the release of v1.39 13 years ago, maybe its time to finally fix it :/

I will eventually work on it. A fix for this problem is not simple because VXLSE III will need to have a unique way to handle all textures, and it usually ends up being something that may not have a perfect solution for it, and I will need to rely on a better optimization. Right now, I am prioritizing another tool.

What if each view is exported as a different file? Surely reloading each view after would be rather simple to work with the existing system?

The texture tool worked perfectly fine in v1.38 (I keep an old version specifically for this tool). Can you remember what you changed in v1.39?

It is possible that the coordinate axis changes have affected this tool.

Well if the axis change did this, it's only in regard to what the maximum width per face is chosen, the max value being the wrong axis.... but this doesn't change the fact the whole layout needs a redesign so that it's not based on max width or height per se.
